HOW TO

This chapter is to tell how things have been set up on this cluster. It may not be the right way, it might not be complete, but it works.

It is assumed that the reader has basic knowledge about VMS and how things happen to be done with VMS.

For those that do not, just let me say that VMS is not like any Unix (including Linux) or Windows. There are some things you need to know and understand. The best way is to read the basic manuals, as can be found on the HP OpenVMS documentation site (This page is VMS 8.2, but you will also find links to 7.3-2 and 7.3)

Information on the primary setup of this machine can be found on the project page. This includes DNS, DHCP, Apache and VMS-mail, but just the basics to get things running the way I wanted it to. More information - the later issues and solutions, can be found in the separate pages on the subjects.
