A more historical walk today: Obersalzberg was the area that constituted the headquarters of the NSDAP. Almost everything has been destroyed by the American occupation forces, directly (Berghaus - "Das Adlernest") or by order (Teehaus). The only remains are the Kehlsteinhaus, the Casino of the former hospital, and a lot of bunkers. There is an exhibition centre, built on the lower walls of one of the buildings. A new hotel was built in the area, It was designed to be located on the same spot the former hospital stood, but they found so much bunkers below - impossible to clear - that it was decided to build somewhat off the site: at the location where Joseph Goebel's house has been. We had done the ascent already, but Günther took a detour to the remains of the Teehaus, because of the look north where you can see the Salzburg Citadel. At least, when it would have been clear. Today it was too hazy to see anything. Kasper and Edwin have done this trip as well, but were not really interested....
