This year's holiday was spent in Southeast Germany, near the K?igssee National Park - in what is called Berchtesgadener Land. We camped on camping site Allweglehen, about 4 Kilometres North of Berchtesgaden, off the road to Salzburg.
This time, Kim stayed at home - she had to work, and would look after the two cats. His friend Edwin would accompany Kasper, and the boys would come by train. Willem and Rita drove to Berchtesgaden in two days, camping about halfway, between Darmstadt and Mannheim.
The first week started with a rainy night, and that was the tone for the whole vacation: Lots of rain, both steady and showery. But when it was dry and more or less sunny, it was quite warm. The second week, started wet, wasn't dry for longer than a day - except the last few days. All these 14 days, there were just 4 or 5 days bright, and sunny....

The boys usually entertained themselves with skating (K?igssee, Salzburg) and having fun in town or on the camping site (there was a swimming pool and a restaurant). Willem, Rita and Franka made guided walks in the mountains, or by themselves. Some trips were undertaken by all of us.
