Well known, PHP4 based system, using a MySQL database. Version 2.2.23 is known to run op OpenVMS, out-of-the-box. Most VMS-based forums use is, but is has some problems with unautorized access: "people" that registrate themselves to post a lot of spam: rubbish posts, that will show up in front of anything else (since newest posts will show up in front. The package allows installation of plug-ins - and there are quite a lot of them just to prevent this.

One site that uses PHPBB is the VmsApacheMySQLPhp site but it's not always online, and this one is heavily plugged against this type of abuse, and it seems to work quite well, from the outside). Other sites that use it is www.oooovms.org - the forum is not publicly accessable. The forums on MySQL and Python are PHPBB forums

PHPBB can be downloaded from www.PHPBB.COM - be sure to take the latest (2.0.23) version. version 3 does not (yet) work on OpenVMS

This is a Perl-based forum, I'm not sure it runs op OpenVMS but since it's Perl, it might. It can be obtained from FreeForum software; a sithe that uses it is Process.com.
