Streekpad Nijmegen
| The next stretch we started where we left last time: in Plasmolen; The walk would lead across the German border, tha major part leading through the woods of the Reichswald, the remains of the large woodlands between Nijmegen and Kleve. Arriving in Klarenburg - an small fortified city - we had our rest in an iceshop that opened just that morning. After that, we took off the Wyler - just before the border, where we would take the bus back. But we just missed it, so we walked the next leg to Beek - just over 3 kilometers - a busstop was specfied just where we would have to cross the main road, But roadworks had diverted the track so we had to walk another kilometer, and we got catch the bus at that piont. All together about 23 kkilometer, and a nice walk in bright weather - rather cold but since most was through the woods, we missed the cold winds most of the walk. |
