Streekpad Nijmegen
| This regional long distance footpath circles Nijmegen, along the Rivers Waal en Maas, crossing an area that used to be isolated until the midst of the 20th century. An area that used to be flooded by all rivers in the area, thus holding low flowbeds in which clay was deposited duing floods, and higer grounds, created by winds, blowing the finer particles to dunes. An area, too, that was know for the mashes and mudbeds, with little use expect for extensive cattlekeeping and hunting. |
