Maintenance – at last
First-of-the-month maintenance is a regular job, now automated and running smoothly, it’s just that the mail statistics aren’t yet sent by mail:
PMAS statistics for April
Total messages    :   6084 = 100.0 o/o
DNS Blacklisted   :    557 =   9.1 o/o (Files: 30)
Relay attempts    :   4636 =  76.1 o/o (Files: 30)
Accepted by PMAS  :    891 =  14.6 o/o (Files: 30)
 Handled by explicit rule
        Rejected :    166 =  18.6 o/o (processed),   2.7 o/o (all)
        Accepted :    372 =  41.7 o/o (processed),   6.1 o/o (all)
 Handled by content
       Discarded :     95 =  10.6 o/o (processed),   1.5 o/o (all)
    Quarantained :    208 =  23.3 o/o (processed),   3.4 o/o (all)
       Delivered :     50 =   5.6 o/o (processed),    .8 o/o (all)

There are a few big relay-attempts logfiles – over 300 blocks, meaning a large number of attempts, but not as many as before. And as ususal, the majority of attempts are from China again. Failing, as may be expected.
There have been quite a number of blocks been added to the SYSLOG zipfile of April – due to larger downloads by other users (my son, in particular) and DoS attempts that are signalled and blocked by the router. Less FTP attemps, up tp now anyway.
The new network is still not operational. The fiber connection is available but the hardware to split it all up is still missing. I’m not sure when it will arrive but it should be any week now..
As is the extra 4Gb memory for the new laptop. Though that has arrived but need to be installed, which will be at the end of the week. A hell of a job, according the supplier. We’ll see.
