This river is the boundary of the provinces of Utrecht (This side) and ZuidHolland (the other side). This is very low land!

24-NieuweNatuur * At some spots, meadows are re-transformed to marshes - and it seems there are plans to extend the area, but most people living here do not agree. * 3672 x 1460 * (493KB)

26-HollandseKade * At the beginning of the Hollandse Kade, leading into a nature reserve. * 1984 x 1488 * (261KB)

30-Baggerdepot * The area is being restored: layers of nutrient-rich slush are dredged from the lakes and canals and temporarely deposited in dyked areas like this. The slush is not poisened so can be used elseweher - to raise lands, as we'd seen before. * 1984 x 1488 * (340KB)
