Here, alder were cut down as well, and that reveals very nice structures in the wood.

24-NieuweNatuur * At some spots, meadows are re-transformed to marshes - and it seems there are plans to extend the area, but most people living here do not agree. * 3672 x 1460 * (493KB)

25-OverDeMeije * This river is the boundary of the provinces of Utrecht (This side) and ZuidHolland (the other side). This is very low land! * 1950 x 1443 * (226KB)

30-Baggerdepot * The area is being restored: layers of nutrient-rich slush are dredged from the lakes and canals and temporarely deposited in dyked areas like this. The slush is not poisened so can be used elseweher - to raise lands, as we'd seen before. * 1984 x 1488 * (340KB)

31-Nieuwkoopseplassen * Nieuwkoopse Plassen - the area is know for it's reed, that grows on small islands. * 1284 x 591 * (61KB)
