Mail statistics December (2007)
Total number of messages: 3808
of which:
Blacklisted: 2674 = 70%
Anti-relay: 52 = 2%
processed: 1082 = 28%
– Discarded: 365 = 33% of processed, 5% of total
– Quarantained: 422 = 39% of processed, 11% of total
Meaning 295 messages, that is 7% of the total amount, were actually delivered. 25 messages, or 9% thereof, slipped through and were rejected by the SMTP service.
ONLY 270 (just less then 7%) were actually right. 93% is junk
Archiving
Done the archiving of all (well, most of) 2007 data. Since archiving is done quite regularly, it’s not much of a job, but you’ll need some time at least to get things right. Operator logs, web server and access logs, FTP logs – all have been archived. Just to have a record. T4 data, stored on the Wintel network, is written to CD, but kept on-line as well – zipped, of course. But there is enough space on the disk to hold another year of data.
A full backup of the system disk has been done as well – where the few open files have no problem at all.
Home page now “dynamic”!
The new program works but I had trouble to get it shown if nothing was specified. On the WASD mailing list I got a few suggestions and, as expected, Mark’s one did the job in full – I thought about it but had the order wrong. anyway: www.grootersnet.nl now shows the “dynamic” page. At the time of writing, the text still needs some adjustment, which will be effective soome time this afternoon.
